Enjoy the fresh air
Through its educational programs and science-based approach to land stewardship, the Arboretum promotes appreciation and conservation of native plants and wildlife. Adkins Arboretum is the only arboretum or public garden that focuses solely on plants native to the Mid-Atlantic coastal plain.
Due to its location on the Delmarva Peninsula, the Adkins Arboretum includes diverse habitats that support more than 600 species of native shrubs, trees, wildflowers, grasses and ferns. Guests are encouraged to partake in many programs and events. The Adkins Arboretum offers educational programs for children and adults that focus on nature, science and art. Guests can also enjoy nature walks, bird watching and nursery open house events.
