This Maryland zoo is open seasonally. Zoo hours are usually 10 am to 5 pm, depending on the weather. One-day admission tickets are priced at $14.50 for adults and seniors and $9.50 for children. Kids under three are admitted for free!

From the African sulcata tortoise to the zebra and everything else in between, you'll find a veritable Noah's ark in Plumpton Park Zoo. A Zoo with a Lofty Objective
Founded in 1954, Salisbury Zoo has the lofty objective of encouraging people to appreciate and preserve wildlife. This zoo in Maryland does not only put animals on display for the enjoyment of visitors, but also aims to educate people and inspire conservation efforts. Its collection consists of species from North, Central, and South America. Other attractions include workshops, organized tours, a gift shop, and a restaurant.

This Maryland zoo is open daily, except Christmas Day and Thanksgiving, from 9 am to 4:30 pm. The best part? Admission is free!

Bask in the Vastness of Nature!
Established in 1933, Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge is a sanctuary for the American bald eagle, the Delmarva fox squirrel, the peregrine falcon, and 250 species of birds. Sitting on more than 25,000 acres of wetlands and forests, this animal refuge in Maryland features a wildlife drive, a butterfly garden, land trails, paddling trails, cycling routes, hunting grounds, and fishing and crabbing areas.

With an expanse this vast, you'll never run out of things to do! In fact, one visit to this Maryland wildlife refuge is not enough. No matter how many times you return, there's always something new to discover!

Birds Everywhere!
Love bird watching? Visit the Merkle Wildlife Sanctuary and you'll find one of the most diverse bird populations in the state! The wintering ground for thousands of Canada geese, this wildlife sanctuary/zoo in Maryland has four hiking trails, a driving route, a visitor center, fishing areas, and picnic grounds. Expect to see some four-legged creatures as well, like white tail deer, red foxes, and skunks.

The sanctuary grounds are open from 7 am to sunset. The Critical Area Driving Tour, meanwhile, is open for driving from 10 am to 3 pm on Sundays. Don't forget your binoculars!
